The Chumbaka (tech) programme develops my children’s analytical, trouble-shooting and problem solving skills; they’re also becoming more focused and confident. It’s a nice balance because the programme also allows them to express themselves freely; come up with silly & creative ideas and encourage them to think outside the box – all while learning important fundamentals

Vivian Tan, parent

Chumbaka offers a structured platform for my children to appreciate the role of technology in their lives, how it works and how to use them; all while developing essential life skills. They’re now more tech-savvy and are able to code and programme at an early age

Michele Stephanie Lim, parent

I learnt how to do coding on different platforms, solve problems using tech, modify and upcycle things around us using simple wiring and coding, and most importantly, I also learnt how to express my own ideas without feeling insecure; thanks to the guidance from mentors and friends

Andrea Ong, student

The best way is with hands-on learning as it has a higher retention rate and exposes learners to the inner workings of something that can’t be effectively taught through theory alone. In addition, a teacher or guide is best to have to convey information to students as nothing beats the human touch. This will also ensure that the knowledge learnt is correct

Ilyas Yahya Ngu Sook-An, student

The skills that I gained, in several aspects including technical, social and values like teamwork, perseverance and more. I believe that all these skills that I have gained will help me a lot in the future. my knowledge about world issues is much wider, my thinking process is enhanced and this helps in things like writing essays during exams up till my future career
